UNLOCK NECK

As Needed

  1. Grab a dish or hand towel and wrap around your neck

  2. Cross your arms Right over Left

  3. Start at the base of the neck. Left arm pulls towel down while right arm pulls neck up and over in a gentle stretch. Hold for 15 seconds, breathe deep, and smile

  4. Move to mid-neck. Left arm pulls towel down while right arm pulls neck up and over in a gentle stretch. Hold for 15 seconds, breathe deep, and smile

  5. Move towel to upper neck. Left arm pulls towel down while right arm pulls neck up and over in a gentle stretch. Hold for 15 seconds, breathe deep, and smile

  6. Repeat on the other side

  7. Rotate neck around to see where stiff spots remain and repeat as needed. Video reference here

Whether you slept wrong or work on a computer or other activity that limits the mobility of the neck, this is an excellent and easy exercise to do as soon as you feel tension. Repeat this exercise 2-3 times as needed.
